Domaine Diochon Moulin-A-Vent
Cuvee Vieilles Vignes 2007
$30.00 / bottle   $6.00 / Glass

Diochon's Moulin-à-Vent is juicily delicious yet there is a majesty to it. It is full-blown and full-bodied, yet it has a lush, supple, swallowable texture. No hard edges. No astringency. No heat. Moulin-à-Vent is supposed to be the grandest of the region Grands Crus, and here you sense a certain grandeur throughout the taste experience. And don't overlook the visuals. Diochon's color is always a sight to see. The color, like the flavor, is cassis-like. Bernard Diochon himself is one of the most respected and beloved figures in the region. His wild moustache looks as if it has seen the inside of a million wine glasses, and it's hard to imagine a world without wine like this.

Mas Gabinele
Faugere 2003 - Red Languedoc Wine
$30.00 / bottle   $6.00 / Glass

Mas Gabinele has only 10 Ha of vines, so its production is small – but precious. Expert wine-maker Thierry Rodriguez owns Mas Gabinele and it is his personal standard of excellence. This 2005 Mas Gabinele, is a blend of Syrah 30%, Grenache 30%, Mourvedre 10% and old vine Carignan 30%. There is a long maceration of 20 to 30 days, followed by 12 to 16 months maturation in French casts. It has a deep red color with flashes of violet. Smooth and powerful on the nose, there are scents of forest fruit jam, coffee, cocoa, pepper and vanilla. These echo in the mouth with a fleshy, Smooth, rounded, ripe and plenty of sun-drenched fruit flavours, a sensual wine with a long finish ending with with a dash of licorice..

Grapes: Syrah 30%, Grenache 30%, Mourvedre 10% and old vine Carignan 30%
